Pottery For A Cause

As usual with any Purple Plunge event, the buzz was in the air on Sunday, October 7 @ Clay Monet in Lake Zurich.  This time there was no need to jump into the frigid waters of Lake Zurich to help community members who are fighting the fight of their life against cancer.  On this day, we simply painted pottery, enjoyed family and friends and indulged in a little pizza and dessert.

The event, titled “Pizza, Pottery & Penguins” was an homage to our mascot, a frisky Purple Penguin.  This was truly a great way to kick-off our upcoming Plunge Season and we are happy to report, we had a huge turn-out, over 50 attendees!  This event alone helped us raise over $1200 that will go directly to help Purple Plunge applicants.  This is just another way our community of Plungers and their families continue to demonstrate to the Purple Plunge Family that “Community is Stronger than Cancer”.   If you missed this great event don't worry, we will be doing it again next year!

We can’t thank Marla Shell @Clay Monet enough for her cooperation, expert guidance and generosity to one of the smoothest run events this volunteer has ever seen!  We can’t wait to see everyone’s painted pieces.

We are beginning to gear up for our Annual Plunge on March 2, 2019 @ Breezewald Park where we will partner with Scoreboard Bar and Grill to bring you an amazing event.  We need Plungers and Volunteers alike.

Did you know?  We are an entirely run volunteer non-profit?  If this is a cause and an event you are passionate about and you can lend your talents to help us prepare, we would love your help.  We could use assistance in writing communications, creating Marketing Materials, Social Media, and Donations (tickets, electronics, etc.).  If you are interested, please send an email to info@purpleplunge.org and provide your name and contact information so we can follow up with you.
